It is my best friend's birthday today, May 5th, 2022. @pearl-hive is the best friend of the year. For some reasons I cannot explain, I have been counting down for three weeks to this day, probably because it is our Birthday...hahaha.
I woke this morning, after saying a quick prayer for a new day, I was looking forward to the day since I knew it would be a day to honor an incredible human being.I grinned as my thoughts rapidly flashed back to the first time I met @pearl-hive. We were coursemates in college when I met her in my 300 level. Prior to our first chat, I had a different opinion about the type of person she would be; to be honest, I had never liked her in class and was eager to do everything for her to look for my trouble so I could unleash venom .
I never got that chance until she got into a disagreement with someone at school, and I jumped in to protect her because she was correct, and there was no reason to ignore her. She thanked me for my efforts, and that's how we got to talking.This was the start of my relationship with one of the special individuals in my life. My dearest friend has an incredible soul; she is compassionate, caring, and steadfast. I can think of a few times when she took up conflicts on my behalf.
She is an extremely principled person who follows her laws without remorse.Friendship is as important to her as family. She is a cook, an engineer, a photographer, a creative writer, and a graphic designer. She makes the worst Tiktok films in the world, yet she speaks French and Chinese reasonably well.She has an amazing podcast going on Spotify.
Today is all about reflecting on the fantastic four-years journey, I've had with this incredible woman. She has shown me what true friendship entails. She's been there for me through thick and thin, even when I didn't have anyone else.Our friendship went through a hard stretch defined by toxicity, disputes, and a smidgeon of animosity. It lasted a long time and influenced our dynamics. Our friends had written us off, and we didn't believe we had anything left to keep our friendship alive.
But here we are, she has found a method to keep us together, despite my acts and breaking regulations. On most days, she can be obstinate, but I can handle it.
I truly want to thank her for being such a wonderful friend to me, but I'm afraid I don't do enough to show her how much I appreciate her. However, on this extremely important day, I reflect on everything you've done for me and our friendship.
