What's the difference?
When you have to move on
For women we would call you, cry at night from the hurt, cry for you to see us, the rollercoaster of emotions keeps a woman on the edge, she wants to be happy with you but she wants you to see where it's hurting, and believe me if she's still in this phase she's honestly in love with you, when the texts keeps coming, when you wake up to long paragraphs and long voice notes, *you still gat her in your grip but once this phase is over, once she starts realizing that she won't be a priority, that's when the moving on begins she would literally move on in front of you, remove all her emotions but still stay with you physically waiting for the chance to leave. And when she does there's no turning back because she's already done with the moving on phase.
But for me; now these beings are wired differently, a man can condition himself to think he's over you, whether or not you hurt him first, they create this phase where they put the pain and everything about the relationship in the back of their minds to focus on other things, you see that's not healing, a man can focus on work after a breakup or focus on the other girls giving him attention, but when they find out that whatever they expected from the previous relationship is not forthcoming that's when the hurting phase begins, men never truly move on, especially if it was their first genuine love, they just move with time and allow the pain turn into old wounds. Some can actually learn from their mistakes in their past relationships while some would likely take the path of changing different women just to get a feel of that past love but it never comes.
So how those that relate to this song by Dean Lewis (Be alright) this song just expresses different phases of hurt, the betrayal phase, the hurt phase, the moving on phase (where your friends just want to help you forget about it, by getting drunk or getting you another girl) and the last phase which is very much difficult is the letting go phase, when he knows she's happy without you, when he noticed he's no more of value in her life.
I was actually moved deeply in one part of the lyrics where he said Nothing heals, they pass like time That's telling you that men don't heal so easily like women, women can stay in the relationship and move on, but it's different with men, the pain will be there but time just makes it a bit easier to move on with life. This shows that men too are humans, they have emotions, they cry over break ups, they get depressed, frustrated and hurt.
I had a friend one time that didn't believe that men can cry or get hurt, she believed in those crazy stereotypes that affirms that a man shedding tears makes him weak or not manly enough and I see that as one stupid ideology, a man can get hurt and express it however he desires to show it.
Thanks to Dean Lewis and his song Be alright It shows how men too get hurt and the journey and phase he took in moving on. Knowing everything was going to be alright.
