A few weeks ago, I wrote about the first musical event I attended and how awful it was, in that post I spoke about how much I hated it, and due to that, I didn’t plan on going to any other.

After writing about it, I had a bunch of comments telling me not to give up and to try again with multiple tips on how to make it better, I was even told that maybe it was bad because the event wasn’t exactly solely for music.

Now, I won’t lie, I didn’t plan on attending anything again, at least not anytime soon because first, I hated leaving my house, and secondly, that event put me off but, as fate may have it, something came knocking.

Last year, I met someone who was an artist and after a while, we became friends, he often invited me to his events to come watch him play or read poetry but, I never did.

Around last week, we had a conversation about my social life and before I realized it, I was being invited and dragged to a musical event in another state.

Even though the state was a few hours away, I didn’t want to go and I tried every excuse in the book which didn’t work because he had heard them before so, I was made to go.

The event named “the eclipse” was a live musical event with poetry also, it was organized by an individual who promotes poetry in southern Nigeria, and what he did was gather small artists from the south.

This event was held in the platinum club in hotel presidential Portharcourt and the venue was not only perfect for it, but for me due to how secluded it was.

Everything about this event screamed intimate and calm which made me enjoy it more because I didn’t have to deal with so many people.

Another perk about this event was how talented the artist and poets were and you could tell that they put their all into it which made it more enjoyable.

After a while of enjoying everything, my friend came up to play and I was so proud of him, it was the first time seeing him live and I couldn’t help but smile.

At the end of the day, I was so glad that I went and I am looking forward to attending more of these types of events.

This event made me realize how much I enjoy intimate events like this and I will surely be keeping my eyes open to more.

This is a nice read, it's good to know that you finally gave musical events a chance. I also love poetry events, they have a way of appealing to your soul. Hope one day you will tell us about how you were the one performing

Thank you so much, I loved it so much and maybe one day ill be writing about myself, fingers crossed.

Are you on Spotify?

https://artists.spotify.com

I used to be, not anymore though.

Interesting performance, I can see why you enjoyed it.

It was really interesting and the ambience was also great.

It looks that way, maybe next time, I'll come with you.

That would be fun 😊

I was expecting the story to end with how you were inspired to jump on stage and do a little number. LoL.

You will kill me instead, bruh, I will never try that in this life.

😂😂

Well, that's what people say until they do it.

It will not be me oh, I'll die of shame.

Maybe try doing backup singing for your friend one of these days.

Maybe I'll try that, I have stage fright though.

Same here but backing up really helped me in my singing.

How nice you went and enjoyed it! 😎
I remember the post when you went to the event, but thee were too many people. Maybe this type of events fit better ;)

Yeah, it totally fits me better; fewer people and at night.

👍 you found then the type of event you will hopefully continue visiting :))

Thank you 😊

Port Harcourt that is where I used to work.
I am glad that you went, is that why you were sick over the weekend.

That is interesting, and it wasn’t why I was sick, I had symptoms already.

ah well I am glad it didn't ruin your trip:)

I am glad too 😊
