Recently added songs

Greetings!

Just as I mentioned in one of my articles about how Monday went by so quickly, today being Wednesday passed with the same speed. I woke up, did a little work, and before I knew it, evening arrived, and now it’s night.

Tonight, I didn’t want to stress my brain by writing a tough contest, so I thought I’d share the recently added songs to my playlist. Sorry, I’m fond of downloading and playing songs in my music player rather than using Spotify or Audiomack.

Soso by Omah Lay.

I’ve known this song for a long time, but I didn’t bother adding it to my list. I would listen to it randomly when it was being played from the mixtapes I have or when I heard it playing at the lounge near my house. Today, I went on YouTube, and it was one of the songs that greeted me on the timeline. I had to play it, and funnily enough, I found myself singing along—just the chorus, though, not the verses.
This song, as it’s known in Africa and worldwide, is often associated with sponsoring depression. Omah Lay introduced a completely different pattern of music to Afrobeats, referred to as "Afrodepression." His music has made significant waves because of this unique genre. His songs are often themed around sorrow, sadness, and depression, and “Soso” is no exception. Despite the melancholic tone, I enjoy the song for its uniqueness.

Kukere Remix by Iyanya and D’banj.

I added this to my playlist two Sundays ago, which was the same day I wrote about Akwa Ibom. This song brought to the limelight the unique dance style of the Akwa Ibom people. I love the remix the most because of the featured artist, D'banj.
I had this song on my playlist since I first heard it in 2012, but I haven't always kept it consistently. I’m fond of this track because it reminds me of the days when I traveled far away to take school exams. This was one of the songs I played endlessly during that time—good memories!

Azaman by Slimcase, DJ Neptune, Larry Gaga, and Peruzzi.

I wrote about this song last month or earlier this month, which is when I added it to my playlist. I've been playing it almost every day since, as my music app plays songs based on the date they were added rather than alphabetically.
This song is packed with good vibes. The lyrics, the beat, and the collaboration of the artists make it exceptional. The influence of 2Baba (formerly known as 2face) alone is enough to get anyone listening to it.

These are the kind of music I play often and I don't get frowned when people, I mean my friends talk down on these.

Thanks for reading.
