There's a situation currently in my country, especially in my state. Everyone is either travelling out of it, and the rest who remain are also looking for ways to leave.
Just yesterday, I had a discussion with neighbours who were expressing their frustration over the cost of transportation, provisions, and fuel. They all talked about how life outside the country is very peaceful and prosperous. Someone listening to them might think this "outside country" is not even on this planet because which country in this world is exempt from suffering, disaster, and hardship?
Somehow, when I see other countries on TV and read about them in books, I feel their problems might even be more serious than ours.
The only reason that makes us want to leave is because we see our people there who are doing well financially. They appear not to be struggling, and their lives seem full of bliss. But that's not entirely true; they are working really hard, and most have already established a foundation.
This song I'm about to share is by the popular singer and songwriter, Adekunle Gold. It was released in 2018, and I came across it in 2020, becoming one of my favourites since then.
He shares impactful words in his lyrics that, when listened to reflectively, can speak volumes about seeking greener pastures.

Often, we already possess the life we desire within us. It simply requires us to continuously seek knowledge and self-improvement to see it come to fruition.
I recall a book about a good shepherd, written by a rural shepherd who drew parallels between our lives and those of sheep. He described how some sheep would venture to graze on the restricted part of the field, exposing themselves to dangers.
These sheep were in search of greener pastures, which they never found when they crossed over. To prevent this, he worked on making his field better by watering it and tending to its needs.
This concept can be applied to our lives as well: nurturing our existing field, striving to keep our part green, as the grass may not be as lush on the other side as it appears.

While reflecting on this, the saying 'a bird in hand is better than two in the forest' comes to my mind.
I once knew a man who let go of his wife for someone he believed was better.
Sadly, the new lady turned out to be his worst nightmare. She took advantage of him and justified her actions by saying it's karma."I'm doing to you what you did to your wife.".
It was at that moment he realised the true value of his wife. He had been so focused on finding someone better that he failed to see the worth of what he already had.
This lesson extends to relationships, business, and all aspects of life.
It is very important to appreciate and nurture what we have while seeking greener pastures.
Happy Sunday to y'all. I hope this post is not preachy, pardon me if it is.
