Michael sat on an old wooden chair in a quiet room. As the sun sank behind the mountains, the sky turned red. On his desk in front of him was a bottle of champagne, and in his left hand, he held a picture of Claire smiling. His eyes shone like the sun setting on the horizon.

He would sometimes moan. The night air was cold, but it was nothing compared to the emptiness he felt inside. A year had passed since Claire died, but the wound still hurt.

Michael remembered the last day he spent with Claire. They often argued about trivial matters. He had told Claire to go into town alone to buy food. Claire smiled, kissed his forehead, and drove away.

There was no sign of danger. The car lost control on the slippery road, and Claire’s car came to a stop at the side. Then everything changed. Her good life was about to end.

Michael was thrown into darkness. He sat every night, listening to the wind whisper Claire’s name. Every sound and shadow sharpened his senses.

One night, while cleaning his room, he found Claire’s old books. In those pages, Claire wrote about her dreams, her hopes, and her pain. His heart broke to see her in so much distress.

This sweet love story did not turn out as he had imagined. Michael felt trapped in a nightmare. He cherished those precious moments, but everything felt overshadowed by sadness.

He felt an overwhelming sorrow when he looked at Claire’s picture. In a voice filled with regret, he said, “Let me go.” But he knew his request would not be granted. As time passed, his anger turned to rage.

Michael felt guilty, realizing he could have done more to make Claire happy. He felt cut off from the world, immersed in endless darkness.

A few months later, while walking in the park, Michael saw a face that looked like Claire’s. His heart raced, a mix of hope and pain. But as he approached, the image disappeared, leaving a deep sadness in his soul.

One night, when the wind blew fiercely, he decided to go to a place full of memories. He wanted to get closer to Claire, as if hoping to find her missing soul. But when he arrived, the weather seemed peaceful.

As time went on, Michael became isolated. He couldn’t understand. His friends were gone, and his life felt empty. Claire wanted to come back, but it was just a dream that would never come true.

When Michael returned home, he found a letter from Claire that he had not read before the accident. In the letter, Claire spoke of her hopes and fears, and how she felt her life had not lived up to her dreams.

Every word he read touched his heart. He knew that the loneliness of their love would not be enough to heal Claire’s pain.

The hurt grew, and it felt as if she had betrayed their love.

He knelt down, tears streaming down his face. “I don’t know,” he said, facing the void. Michael wanted to change everything, but he knew it was too late.

Finally, he stood up and looked up at the starless sky. He knew he would never forget Claire, and even though she was gone, he remembered all those moments they shared.

Before he could turn around, he heard a voice behind him say, “Michael... Here I am.” The sound was like the wind in the forest. When he turned, Claire appeared, alive and happy.

Michael watched with a trembling heart. “Claire? But... how is that possible?” Claire smiled, tears welling in her eyes. “I didn’t give up. I only had one thing on my mind.” He let out his emotions, and the world around him began to shake.

Michael felt all the pain and sadness weighing on his heart begin to melt away. “We can be together again now,” Claire said, stepping closer.

But he felt worthless; his life had become dull. “But that won’t happen; I’ll lose you!”

“We must dare to look to the future and seek what is lost,” Claire replied.

Michael felt anger rise within him, knowing that everything he had ever wanted in life had been taken from him as a painful gift. “Will you follow me, Claire? Will you enter the pain that could take your life?”

“Claire, I will fight for my life and my dreams, but I must go,” Michael shouted. He smiled, but doubt gnawed at his heart. Claire believed him, and her image began to fade.

Before she disappeared, Claire said, “I will be with you in your heart.” Michael stood there, feeling the cold night air. He knew that even though Claire was gone, their love would always be with him.

Michael turned, Claire’s shadow lingering in his mind. He heard something whispered in the distance, as if calling his name.
