Happy New Year To All Music Lovers In This Community!
I trust you had a wonderful celebration.
As the New Year buzz fills the air, one topic seems to be roaming around everywhere and you know what that is? New Year Resolutions and all that.
I woke up earlier today and was just reminscing on the thoughts of this New Year resolution thing and you know the question that suddenly struck me like a flash?
The 2024 goals you made, did you achieve all of them?
This singular question made me sad because for a fact, I didn't achieve all of them even though I gave it my best shot. It was not that the goals were unrealistic but, let's just say it was just that I didn't push hard enough, I guess. But regardless, it was a painful realization, knowing that despite giving it my best shot, I fell short.
In the midst of this despair of thoughts was when my music playlist came to my rescue, it's always been coming to my rescue at all times and that's why I don't joke with musics.
This is a song by MercyMe released in 2017 as part of their album Lifer and the greatest inspiration that comes from this song is the point where it says to God that,
I know you are able, I know you can
Save through the fire, with Your mighty hands
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone .
Don't know what these chorus lines resonates in you but to me, it resonates the feeling of hope in me; the feeling that regardless of how tough it gets that I shouldn't be afraid because when my strength elapses, God is there to strengthen and see me through the struggles of this life.
Aside from the lyrical masterclass of this song, it is a song that has got a deep emotional and spiritual connection speaking faith, perseverance and hope into the minds of her listeners .
As Christians, we kneel down to pray and beg God for whatever we want but sometimes, it just feels like our prayers aren't answered and life comes with overwhelming hardships and turbulence; these makes our faith in God waver but, it is also in those situations we say to God that He is all we've got and Even If He doesn't answer, we will still worship Him because His mercy and goodness remains unmatched regardless of whatever outcome we found ourselves in.
The sounds, a piano melody which starts off the song makes it a soothing one to the ear also , not to talk of the honesty in Millard's disposition with his voice sounding like one who's passing through life pains but still clinging all his hope on God making this song stand out in relatability.
When I was reading about this song and the artist, I discovered that the song was birthed out of genuine prayer when Millard's son was suffering from Type 1 diabetes, this made me conclude that this song wasn't just a song but a heartfelt prayer to God and of course, He who sings, prays twice with the combination of the musical instruments creates an uplifting and meditative piece.

In conclusion, “Even If” by MercyMe is a wonderful song and a reminder of God's presence in life's storms.
I don't know what you're currently facing or the goals you've failed to achieve last year but here's a new year on a clean slate and with God by your side, you will achieve them all.
I pray you find solace in the song too like I did.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day ahead 👍
