How I Stay Updated with New Music: My Favorite Apps

in Q Inspired-by-Music4 days ago (edited)

How do you keep track of new songs without missing any especially when thousands of talented artists are trooping into the music industry on daily basis; some with extraordinary songs and some still finding their footing.

I once asked a friend of mine about this particular thing and he told me he follows most of the musicians in the Twitter/X space to get updates there.
Another friend of mine also told me he will definitely hear the song somewhere and it's understandable since he only vibes to Nigerian hip-hops.

I kept pondering a solution until I bumped into these music applications and they've been of great assistance to me.

DEEZER

I came across this application when I heard my roommate listening to an 80's jam, one of those classic tracks that are now a challenge to find.
DEEZER allows you listen to any album of your choice, just know the name of the album and you are good to go.

Downside: The shuffle feature is not really great.
Also, when an album finishes, playback stops instead of continuing automatically or entering another song and then lyrics display is not well-implanted.

ViMusic

This is another great app with impressive features.
It's shuffling feature is top notch with similar music recommendations... You'll really enjoy this and they have nice built-in lyrics display too.

Downside: They are currently having an upgrade or something so it's misbehaving atimes by not playing certain songs which may actually stop soonest.
You can't also access the songs of the 80's and 90's as it only focus on recent songs.

Spotify and YouTube Music

I haven't explored these in full because they're paid applications but you can still enjoy their services even without the payment just that for you to get to the sweetest part, you have to make the subscription.

Upside: their shuffling feature is also very amazing and they've got a built-in lyrics display too.

Shazam

Now this is not really an app I use for playing musics but it's a music search app.
Any song I hear anywhere and I love the song, I'll quickly get to this app and turn it on to get the details of the song.

These are my go-to music app. What are your thoughts on them? Do you have a better suggestions?
