I have always loved me everything that comes as a country song mostly so , Dolly Parton , Kenny Rogers , etc. I was at work listening to a country song when my director who happens to share the same taste in music as I recommended I listened to Holly Potters by Dolly , since I really enjoy her song.
These songs always leave you a strong message after listening.
I picked up my headphones and began listening to Hollywood Potters .
We already know who a Potter is and what he or she does they make and mold, Hollywood is the popular place to make or break stars. And there are people behind the scenes working to make sure that talents are suppressed or raised to stardom.
So the singer merged both words Hollywood Potters.
Someone who faced so much stress and misdeeds from Hollywood was Tyler Perry , all he had was a dream to be great and make something out of Hollywood, but he kept getting the doors slammed to his face.
Now imagine if he wasn't a fight and believed in his dreams so much to make it come through he would never have broken out as well as given voice to most black actors .
Not just in Hollywood, it happens when her in Nollywood ( The Nigerian film industry) where both male and female have to grovel and beg for roles despite been so talented and have the potentials of become great stars. But they never get to receive the chance of been given a step to limelight.
Young talents gets to suffer and sometimes do crazy things.
The song says Some even make it but most never do.
It speaks of how much they have to suffer to make it to limelight , so suffer all the days of there lives trying to fulfill there dreams and after a while, starts to suffer and give up on the possibility of even chasing the dream of Music, Acting or anything entertainment at all.
She also says
Some to the bottles and some to the vain
It goes further to explain what these talents who never gets to see the light do, they start to drink to make there sorrows go away, so go for substance like drugs , which may have to be injected to cause them to sleep and get high and numb the pain.
Mothers Hold on to your sons and your daughters, should Hollywood claim them you'll hold them no more.
This statement is both a warning and a plea to mothers to hold there children and guide them to the light against people trying to take advantage of them because they want stardom as there are other ways in this modern times to get to limelight without having to beg and grovel for fame and status just let them be prepared for when opportunities that are good and perfect meet them, at there time of waiting.
