For someone who hated music classes in high school, I enjoy listening to songs. In junior high school, it got to a point where my music teacher had to call me out and talk to me because I purposely wasn't doing well in my music assessments. Forcing students to draw treble and bass cleves, interpret musical notes and all of the rest of the activities we were made to do, felt like torture. A form of torture I was so glad to escape when I made it to senior high school.
The most annoying part of it all was that music classes were always the last class for the day and by this time my mind was already saturated and tired. I vividly remember a group presentation where we were made to produce music using star apple seeds. I remember stepping in front of the classroom with my group members and performing terribly. I also remember my music teacher writing down our scores using a red pen, concurring that we had indeed done poorly.
Be that as it may, music has always been an intricate part of my being. I grew up in a household where both parents loved listening to songs and this slowly became something I loved doing too. As a matter of fact, all my daily activities feel a lot easier when there is some form of tune playing somewhere around.
Music is art and art is what I do. This is why I was inspired to craft something pertaining to music today. My junior high school music teacher would be so proud that I got the treble clef symbol right in just one try.
For this design, I used one of my finest yarns because I not only wanted to enjoy the process of making this symbol but I also wanted the process to go smoothly, hence the milk cotton yarn.
Making this symbol wasn't as tasking as I expected it to be. First, I made a chain of eighty starting stitches and then proceeded to make a row of half double crochet stitches. The last thing I did was to pin the various indentations in place using a darning needle and the treble clef was ready.

Do you remember any experiences from your music classes?
This post however, is a tribute to the treble clef symbol that was always so frustrating to draw and on days I drew it right, it wasn't properly aligned. I never would have thought that years later, I would dedicate an entire post to the symbol I liked the least.
The song I chose today, “Yellow” , a fine song by Coldplay, is courtesy of the colour of the treble clef I crafted. What do you think of this crafted musical note?
