Summary

In 7 days my company @rhemagames will be publishing a proposal detailing our plans to create first class gaming services using Hive as the backbone of the service. If you are a game Developer or someone who loves games and wants to see more content on Hive please follow @rhemagames.

Hive Gaming Services - What's that about.

If you have been following me for any length of time you will know of the numerous projects I have started (and have had to set aside) when it comes to video game development and Hive / Steem. In my past attempts the goal was to create a software agnostic service that would run on your computer, and then through that service, you could connect to the broader Hive network. Though some of those ideas still remain my company feels that we can re-build these services as a native plugin for the game engines we want to support (Godot,Unreal,Unity).

We're excited about the possibilities that a true game engine SDK would do for the network and all the ways that having a standard set of tools and protocols to streamline the process for both developers and users. Our current road map is to have one to one parity with Valve's Steam SDK, but designed in such a way to create a decentralized network of servers and content providers. It's no small task, which is why we are asking for your help.

Yeah but, what does that mean for me?

As a part of our development process we are going to be releasing both a desktop (maybe mobile) application and the first demo of our game Angular Velocity which will both use the HGS to its fullest potential. We will also be creating tutorials and other content to help onboard any and all game devs that either want to use Hive for all of their games needs or just one or two features. For non-game devs we will encourage community feedback loops with the games devs and offer up rewards for those that interact on the service. (More on that further down the road.)

Of course all this depends on funding, so I'd like to open this post up to anyone that would like to ask about what we're trying to create, and use that in the FAQ section on the proposal. So please feel free to comment below and I will do my best to answer your questions.

Thank you all for reading, we look forward to your input and your support!
