I played Disaster Report 4 last year. The old man's scene is stuck with me.
The earthquake destroyed everything & this laid-off employee is sitting there. Too depressed to care...

hahhaha.. wow.. such games exist.. =)
I have only played the demo, but this game goes completely realistic with the effects of earthquakes... The most depressing things are the ones that aren't related to the earthquake at all.

Nice graphics on that one. Although the characters here remind me of early avatars in Second Life

Very cheesy... did anyone ever do that? Go to work in a suit but then just sit and chill in the park!?

Maybe, it's common in Japanese fiction that I have to assume some actually do it...
But it's not a good sign for the society. The concept of shame of being different in Japan is so crushing...

I can't imagine that any german would ever srsly do that, maybe if he's an addict of some sort but not because of being laid off.
Nor Libyan too... The people who'll make fun of him here will be worse than the people he's afraid of telling them about losing his job.
Losing a job at a company seems like a disaster in Japan where one's life is dedicated to one company.
Changing jobs there is a huge deal!

I never knew... I mean, who gives a crap about a job? There are so many... xE
