Ah, didn't realize that's what they meant. (It was obvious.) I thought they meant that the domains themselves were limited quantity in general, which isn't good for domain names.

No they aren't like ens. It's yours for free and for life
Have you heard of Handshake domains? It's a similar concept but they're secured by their own blockchain in comparison to the UD smart contract approach
