I don't know where you learned that but the Lord is loving and merciful and never legalistic. You can read the Diary of St. Faustina for more info. 😉

The Lord is indeed those things. The Church is not.
The Church is composed of people so naturally there will always be those who choose to be a Judas in big or small ways instead of the other 11 apostles. There will always be things we won't like that other people do. Such is life with free will. We are not perfect but if we strive to be holy then we can eventually be perfect indeed.
The Church will always lead people away from the Lord, because that is its primary purpose. They seek to be the gatekeepers of Faith, and that is unholy.
I guess you don't pray and fast huh. If you don't know how to pray and fast in order to know God's truth then I suggest you read up on the writings of St. Teresa of Avila or St. John of the Cross.
If you have issues with the Catholic Church, that's already normal coming from Protestants. Saying the Church keeps people away from God is the opposite of what Jesus Christ meant the Church to be, exactly what the devil wants people to think. If you have issues with the Church you talk to God about it and the leaders of the Church itself not people like me who won't be able to do anything about your concerns. As I said, you keep barking up the wrong tree. 😆
But I understand if you have no one to talk to about these things, it really is a sad reality these days. People don't want to talk about being a better and holier person. All there is are bickering online and proving who's right and who's wrong instead of developing a deeper relationship with God.
