From the perspective of those books & experts.

  1. What is discontentment?
  2. What is the cause of discontentment?
  3. How to eliminate discontentment?
  4. How can a person practice in order to move toward the elimination of discontentment?

These are quite broad issues that should be grounded a little. Dissatisfaction is simply when a person experiences it as such, regardless of the situation or the causes, because it is totally valid to feel discomfort in the face of whatever it is that causes it.

And finally, discontent is an inherent part of life itself, so it is impossible to eliminate it and what is necessary is to learn to deal with it. The ways to deal with it are left to the individual.

I personally view discontentment as an experience that can be permanently eliminated.

That there is a single universal cause that's true for every human being, every living being and in every circumstance.
