... a traditional Christmas playlist. I like me some Burl Ives, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Brenda Lee, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, etc...
Posted via D.BuzzThese classics remind me of when I was a kid during Christmas. https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/traditional-christmas-music/pl.9725d69a7e1249b382a92b0cef3b885d
I like the classics and I count Mariah under that. This is one I've heard previously, but I only just tried playing it at the pub.
Nice flashback! The thing that caught my eye was her playing jacks. One of my still favorite games to play. It's been a while and you've inspired me to go hunt for my set. I haven't seen it since the move. Which means its in a box...somewhere.
I'm a traditionalist, too. I like watching the old movies, too, like "On Moonlight Bay," "By the Light of the Silvery Moon," "It's a Wonderful Life," "White Christmas," etc.
I raised my sons on old classic movies. At first they were resistant to the black and white offerings until they began watching. The dialogue and storytelling is far superior to much of what is available today. Who says modern tech makes a better story? Not me.
Agreed. Many (most) of the remakes aren't anywhere near the originals.
Traditional songs are my favourite, I was talking about this the other day, that I’m not so keen on the more current ones. My favourite is Greg Lakes song (Emerson, Lake & Palmer) which features a little bit of Prokofiev’s melody from Troika - it’s an absolute gem.
I wasn't sure I had heard Greg Lake's song, but went to look and it seems like I may have heard it before long ago.
It’s an old classic but doesn’t sound it, if that makes sense?
Yes, it's timeless.
