I've got gardening on my mind. Which isn't a surprise given that it is springtime ...

... and the weather is glorious.

In these photos are basil, lettuce, and potato plants. Do you know which one is which?

On a side note, the potato plant was a total accidental planting.

Okay, I have to hear about the "accidental" potato planting.

I was actually trying to get a rose stem to root. One method involved dipping the stem in honey and then putting the honey-dipped stem into a potato before planting. The rose stem shriveled up and died. The potato grew. Which about par for the course for my surprise gardening style.

LOL. Now that's funny!

We're starting some planting now the frost seems to be about over. It turned wet today, so we've not done as much out there as we planned. Home grown is the best.

Home grown is the best.

Agreed. I do container gardening on the porch/balcony high amongst the tree tops. I really don't encounter many pests. The bonus was being able to still harvest during the winter because I could pull the plants into the sun room when it got to freezing temps.
