yes, so far I think it went well.
the book depicted only the 'facts' but the series liven it up with their own deeper complications over the 'usual Westeros's politics'

What's the main plot of the series?

it based on parts of the novel Fire & Blood, it is set about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.
it carries similar plot with GoT, all around the politics to fight for the Iron Throne between Royal Families.

aside from the dragons and fantasy elements, it resembles real life politics, but i still believe real world politics are more complex and dirtier. 😂
