I think I have never seen lettuce other than green! We (My wife) occasionally buy and use green lettuce for making some special fast food items.
Anyway, the red/purple lettuce looks good!

I like using different coloured salad leaves when i'm putting a salad together, much more interesting look to the dish than using just green leaves.
