i could potentially help you resolve this issue if you like (AND if you are open to all possibilities). If so, just ask.@fernandosoder

I would like to. I am open to [almost] all possibilities.

This MarkyMark has some strong hate against me because back in 2018, when I was in the hospital recovering from a destroyed face (literally. it was a horrible accident), I started using an dApp called "DMania" to share memes I happen to come across in other websites. Back then I had no idea what were the "Rules of Steem", so it came as a surprise when out of nowhere "the unknown him"(had no idea he existed until then) blacklisted me ans started downvoting all post I made that week. And he has me blacklisted ever since.

Then a lot of developers(including PeakD and Hive.blog) started endorsing a webservice he made to publish his list of targets. As you can see, in the PeakD interface there is a warning close to my name to show that I am on his "BuildAWhale" personal blacklist. And while he keeps creating bullying campaigns to drive people out of this platform(like a Surf enthusiast who used to post pictures from beaches here before MarkyMark started flagging campaigns against everything he posted), many people still give him support by voting on his witness and his Blacklist Project. I don't blame most of his supporters as they don't know much about him.

I really dislike centralized blacklists. They determine which Hive users are "good" or "bad", they take away rewards from both their target authors and their curators, and there is almost no opportunity for appeals.

Blacklists do not take any rewards away, it is a marker for bad behavior (spam, plagiarism, fraud, etc).

Please be aware of this user (@themarkymark). The user have been kicked off other social platforms and are harassing other users by continually downvoting them. The user control and use @buildawhale Account (An old voting bot) for this too.

I once was thinking about creating a profile or community called "Hive Police" to do this work, with a list of very direct rules to be applied and full interface to vote for blacklisting. And all blacklisting would need to have a Hive end-block number when the name would be removed.

Example:

  • "current block number" + 201600(a week from now) = end-block number
  • "current block number" + 864000(a month from now) = end-block number

Also the gravity of the infraction would determine if the profile from just blacklisted to receive a warning to would have automatic downvotes on everything it posts before the end-block

To determine if someone gets blacklisted there would be a 4-day vote among all profiles delegating HP to the Hive Police where it would be necessary to have 75% voting-HP + 20% total delegator profiles FOR the inclusion. The included profile could appeal at any time, and if he manages to turn enough votes to go below the "guilty-threshold", his name is removed from the list

It's not a perfect system, but it was an idea I had.

As much as I dislike centralized blacklists, I don't think I can do anything about it now. Even the most knowledgeable and determined have not been able to successfully remove those centralized blacklists.

Indeed we have a "centralization problem" in our decentralized blockchain.

By the way, only those who visit the D.Buzz community outside the D.Buzz platform will be able to see this comment of yours.

i didnt realise what you meant by that @anonymouser, but now i do, after looking for the comment on d.buzz frontend and not finding it. Its because of the no. of characters! Thanks for the heads up (even though i didnt get it) :-)

I am aware of that.

Okay. Now i need to sleep, but i will respond more in the next day or two, asking a few more questions and offering some observations before i approach Mark.

For now, please ponder this:

Going to take a look.

Sorry for the delay @fernandosoder. I've not forgotten.

"I would like to. I am open to [almost] all possibilities."

This concerns me a little, the "almost" part. It's not that i am asking you to believer that anything is possible, just to be open to the the possibility that somethings which you don't currently believe just might be possible, and be prepared to look deeper. I think it might take quite a bit of my time (and introspection from you) to help resolve this issue (you being blacklisted/getting downvotes) and you might "shut down" part way through the process. Anyway, i will proceed.

More to come.

In the meantime, please ponder this:

Three Gatekeepers of the mouth (and keyboard)

This concerns me a little, the "almost" part.

By that I meant to be opened to all reasonable possibilities, excluding the most exaggerated unreasonable ones. But I would need to know about what the other person has in mind so I can evaluate if is something I would consider exaggerated an unreasonable.
