... glossy fur, loose skin and slobber, but it was a gorgeous sweet thing that just wanted love. I was sad to put it back in its kennel.

      Thanks. I love my weekend job. The pay's not much (covers my petrol and breakfast with little left over), but getting to spend time exercising funny sweet pooches, knowing I'm doing some good in the world, is its own reward (far more than a high-earning corporate job ever was).

        I also tried to befriend some skittish cats whom will be there for 9 months, but didn't make any headway. Perhaps what I needed was a mouse or some catnip. I'm sure they'll get used to me in time. Otherwise, they're probably going to be miserable, devoid of human contact.
