We are fortunate to have a lot of big trees in the yard. Some of them lost some branches and limbs in the hurricane, but they are still standing tall, and while we don't have as much shade since those limbs and branches are gone, it still helps.
On the windows that don't have the trees, we have sunscreens added on the outside. That helps, too.
Trees do make all the difference. We have plenty of trees on the east side so morning sun is more dappled than direct hit. There is a large tree on one part of the west side which offers some good shade, but the rest is full sun
