But what about God being the Father of all, not just the father of Jesus but everyone and everything?

This is actually another correct meaning of "Father" as in He created all of us.
If you mean it that way, then yeah, we're all his God's and daughters, but he created us, we're not begotten to him. That's not the way Christians define "Son of God" and that's where we conflict.
