What do you think about the "Hustle Culture"? I think it's a fucking scam. ...

... Everyone's trying to convince us that we should always hustle, and that you're lazy if you don't monetize everything that you like.

It sucks.

Yeah and then you spend more time monetizing stuff than doing things you enjoy in your life :)

It is sad

It's kind of pressure. We've got to believe anyway, sometimes, poverty can be so bad and embarrassing

It’s a scam

And the opposite is a scam too. I mean, the "philosophy" that says: "money is bad, and if you don't struggle to find it, you will never have it". That's bullshit 😅

You read it from an avocado 🥑

Hustle Culture kills art and hobbies for the sake of enjoyment. One of the most freeing things for me was acknowledging that I can enjoy doing something just because I like doing it and experiment for fun. It often doesn't turn into anything magnificent but that's okay.

It lacks a healthy work & life balance if it is as you describe.

Not sure about "scam." People wanna sell their stuff with a "FOMO" mentality that if you don't do this or that, you won't make as much money, blah blah blah.

The good news is we get to control how we manage our time & allocate our energy.

I think there is one major upside to Hustle Culture, which is that if you repeat certain proceses long enough, you'll more easily be able to recognize what works and what doesn't. In those cases experience > luck.

But the narrative of monetizing everything just doesn't work.
