I don't advocate for bans, I advocate for truth. I have never used TikTok myself, and the security concerns are just one reason. Let the risks be known, and let the people choose for themselves.
I am generally of the same opinion. I do find it odd sometimes how people will be critical of covert activities of our own government yet be supportive of similar activities by other governments.
This is exactly why I think the TikTok ban is stupid: it will not stop the Chinese government from getting any info they want, it will just make them buy it from Facebook and Google.

I think it's not so much about pulling data though. It's about controlling the narrative and amplify the voices they want us to hear. It's a psyop.
Same rules apply. They've been controlling narrative on platforms like Meta and X by buying ads for as long as those platforms have sold ad space.
