Most Thai people, if a meal includes chili paste, no matter what kind of chili paste it is, will have a side dish of fresh vegetables. Some families may boil them because vegetables have a bland taste and are very delicious when eaten with chili paste.
One thing I like to make for breakfast when we have chili leftovers is fried potatoes, chili, and over easy eggs.

Ah, got it. Totally different kind of chili. I was thinking of ground meat, tomatoes, onion, chili seasonings. Like this GIF.
