Hi, I really don't know, I thought at first that they were words, however when I entered the page that the contest promoter posted, I checked and apparently they are not words but syllables.

Then I checked on the Writers' Workshop platform, and indeed they are syllables and not words.

Not in English, but I think I got what you mean... So Haiku is about Syllables and not necessarily complete words.
