If you use an SSD the first time it's really impressive! 😊✌
Tips for better performance and a longer life cycle of your SSD:

I'm impressed with how many people havent tasted the power of ssd yet in 2020, wait until you taste the power of a pcie nvme ssd which are on average x5-6 faster than SATA ssd's!
Don't get too crazy with me! 😂
Did this on my mac a few years back, lol I can't believe how I lived before SSD< the boot times alone are worth the change
A friend of mine tried to convince me to do that. I guess he's right :)
Linux is the way
Posted using Dapplr
Yeah I prefer it to Windows for security reasons but can't drop windows because Elgato won't let me capture on Linux. Means I get to continue living the dual boot life.
not ideal ... but if you really need this Elgato device, I guess this is the only choice you have
I did the same, last year. I had an old laptop which was operating slowly. I couldn't afford a new one. The next best thing was to replace it with SSD. It worked wonders.
That's the same deal here. This laptop used to work great but over time I thought I had picked up malware or even just too much on a single computer. Turns out a 5400 HDD just doesn't cut the butter like it used to.
Are you using Windows? Did you get a new license or it can just be re-used on new SSD?
I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu since I can't find a way to use my Elgato without Windows. No new license and kept everything as is using MiniTool Partition Wizard 10. Easy guide here
Thanks @patrickulrich, will check that out :)
Your level lowered and you are now a Red Fish!

I just did the same. Night and day. Mine went from almost 2 minute boot time to like 15 seconds.
Same! I can't believe I put this off for so long. It would have made Steeming Pile shows way more functional when I was always freezing up.
