No official reason given. They will probably claim it is to prevent apes from buying the top but they could have also done it to prevent insolvency since they are on the hook for taking delivery of all that stock & none of their customers have the money to actually execute the option

In my non-expert opinion, they should dissolve if they cannot pay, and their assets should be use to pay the customers that bought against the naked short selling.
