I enjoyed the series more than I did the book. I've not read the sequels, but I will watch more of the show.
We're watching Zero Day now with a couple more episodes to go.

I hardly watch TV these days. When I turn it on it's usually to screenshare something from my phone with my family. Other times its to watch something on YouTube like a livestream, webinar or podcast.
The only reason I stumbled upon 3 Body Problem was because I was cancelling Netflix and thought I'd take a look to see if there was anything worth watching until my subscription ends next month. I had no idea it was based on a book, but given the excellent story telling, I'm not surprised. My attention was captured within the first few minutes. I kept telling my family about what was happening in the episodes and also telling them I regretted starting the series because I really didn't have time to watch it. Yet, watch it I did.
In general when it comes to my content preference, I think we already live in a "political thriller" sort of world. Which is why my entertainment escapism is definitely more on the sci-fi/fantasy theme. Give me Foundation, The Witcher, Dark, Fortitude, The Umbrella Academy, etc.
3BP was written by a Chinese author and more of the book takes place in China. I watched a Chinese movie of another of his books (Wandering Earth) that was interesting.
I'm not big on political stuff, but we're watching Zero Day as well as The Residence that both feature US presidents. I loved Dark, Witcher and Umbrella Academy. I watched the new Witcher animation last night that's a violent twist on The Little Mermaid.
We watch a mix of broadcast and streamed stuff. You have to pick out the good stuff.
Ooo, interesting. You've just given me something new to watch the next time I feel an entertainment binge coming on.
