Sending other folks to die for your created war doesn't scream powerful to me. It says, "I'm too weak to do it myself". I bet we'd have no wars if the leaders had to fight them

While I somewhat agree with this, I think that fake power is still power. If (for whatever reason) you have authority or money, you can still do many things even if you're actually very weak.

I agree. But the real thing is that when people see that they are the ones that give them their fake power; things turn. In big enough groups self-realization is an awesome thing.
These people are only powerful because we gave them our power. Might be time to take that back.

This reminded me of the philosophical question "Prisoners Dilemma."
People are better off if they all said "No." But if a few of them said "No" and not others, those are the only one who'll shoulder the consequences.... *Sigh
