Hey that's awesome! Thank you! My first question would be: Are there any ways to manually acquire HIVE? I've started playing Rising Star but that seems like more of a long term thing.
If you post quality content and engage with other creators, you will earn rewards after a week if you get any upvotes over $0.02 in total. That is how I earned everything I have. I spent no fiat. I did benefit somewhat when HIVE forked from STEEM 4 years ago, and I consolidated here, but it's still all a result in participation in the community. There are ways to buy HIVE if you want to play on exchanges though.
Is there any way to view categories for different topics? Like if I wanted to find the creators who focus on outdoors, or cooking, or specific things like that?
Check out the list of communities. Outdoors and More is administered by @galenkp, and I am sure others exist, too. You can also search by clicking on the tags used to categorize posts and find what else has been similarly tagged.
