I get you, if you are a new writer on Hive, I know that it is hard to start. You have a lot of questions…

“What should I write”

“People might not read my post”

But I will tell you, all of this is just in your mind.

No one cares about what you are thinking, what do you need to do is to start writing anything and find out what is the best niche for you.

If you haven’t found your niche yet, this post will cover all your doubts in writing, how to start finding your niche, and how can you stand out as a writer on your niche.

Understanding the power of niche writing

What is niche writing?

It is a practice where you will choose a specific topic to write and share about on your blog to get the attention of your readers, focus on what they need, and have a better result if done right.

It differs into a general writing where a blogger can write anything without specific topic. For example, if you are writing about writing and digital marketing, it is a broad topic and there’s a lot of ideas that you can write about.

Meanwhile, if you are a niche writer, you can focus on one topic; for example, if you want to start niche writing about writing and digital marketing, you can start with a niche about growing your Hive account, growing your Quora account, etc. The main goal is to talk and discuss more in a single topic while having consistent appearance for your readers.

How to choose the right niche?

When choosing the right niche for you, you should consider the following to find the best niche for you.

Passion and expertise

When choosing your niche, you can consider your passion, expertise, and hobbies to share with your audience in a form of writing. This is the best practice if you are just starting on writing and still find it difficult to find your niche.

For example, if you love gardening, you can always write content about your garden and document your journey in growing your plant. This way, you are having fun while creating content, learning, and has a potential to earn in long term if you found your audience.

In my case, I am trying to start niche writing (finally) after having more than 3 years of finding my niche, I decided to start sharing the things that I love and wants to learn. I can finally have fun while sharing the things that I learned!

Market demand and competition

If you see writing as a business, then starting a niche writing business is the best for you. Start by looking for the niches, areas, and topics where most people are looking to and start creating a content about it.

I have been seeing a massive spike of interest about AI from the people, it could be possibly because of emerging technology and growing industry of AI.

Even the Google Trends data doesn’t lie, I tried comparing the 3 topics and you will see the difference of the 3. From this simple graph, you can say that people are now more searching about AI so why not start writing more about AI?

This simple analysis and market research can bring you traffic overtime.

Niche profit potential

According to the stats of BloggersPassion, make money online is the most profitable niche so far having a commission rate of 5-30% and average earnings of around $20 to $200 per sale while having finance as its top 2.

When finding a niche and you also want to focus on its business side, you have to look into its potential way of monetization. This is what other businesses are doing, market research and find the best profitable niche that they can build to start earning money.

In Hive, you can start doing this and start affiliate marketing or sponsored posts to start monetizing your content.
