Ancient fragments - watercolors on paper
Hello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a watercolor that has Greek and Roman antiquity as its subject. I was inspired by my visit to the excavations of Pompeii that still amaze with outstanding finds. So I thought of making a painting that evokes those bygone atmospheres. I depicted the remains of temples and ancient architecture where some figures perform actions related to everyday life, carrying water in jars or washing clothes. I tried to depict the passage of time through marks on the wall and fragments of architectural scenes.

Antichi frammenti - acquarelli su carta
Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido un acquarello che ha come soggetto l'antichità greca e romana. Sono stato ispirato dalla mia visita agli scavi di Pompei che ancora oggi sorprendono per i ritrovamenti eccezionali. Così ho pensato di realizzare un dipinto che evoca quelle atmosfere ormai passate. Ho rappresentato dei resti di templi e antiche architetture dove alcune figure compiono delle azione legate alla quotidianità, portano acqua in giare oppure si dedicano al lavaggio di panni. Ho cercato di raffigurare il passare del tempo attraverso segni sulla parete e frammenti di scenati architettonici.
