Neverland
Hello everyone dear friends and welcome back to my blog. Finally I have finished a large size oil painting, I am very satisfied with the work also because it took over a month to finish it.
For an oil painting on canvas it takes a long time to dry the paint, if you then use linseed oil as a medium, the time is doubled. I was in no hurry and therefore between one watercolor and another I was waiting for the drying times.
The painting represents a subject on the verge of surreal, an island that I dream of reaching that is surrounded by sailboats with the strangest shapes.
A vision dreamed of as often happens in my subjects.
Just last night a person asked me the price for this painting, I thought I'd keep myself low, and I replied 1200 euros, considering the time and the material used.
He immediately told me it was very expensive!
I carefully explained to him that it took over 30 hours of work and over 200 euros of material to finish the painting, I felt offended but it doesn't matter.
Art is priceless, but perhaps it would be better to say that art is for a few!

L'isola che non c'è.
Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog. Finalmente ho terminato un dipinto ad olio di grande formato, sono molto soddfisfatto del lavoro anche perchè ho impiegato oltre un mese per finirlo.
Per un quadro ad olio su tela occorre molto tempo per l'asciugatura delle stesure di colore, se poi usi come medium l'olio di lino il tempo si raddoppia. Non avevo fretta e quindi tra un acquarello e un altro aspettavo i tempi di asciugatura.
Il quadro rappresenta un soggetto al limite del surreale, un'isola che sogno di raggiungere che è circondata da barche a vela dalle forme più strane. Una visione sognata come spesso mi capita nei miei soggetti.
Proprio ieri sera una persona mi ha chiesto il prezzo per questo dipinto, io ho pensato di tenermi basso, e le ho risposto 1200 euro, considerando il tempo e il materiale impiegato.
Mi ha detto subito che era molto caro!
Gli ho spiegato con cura che sono occorse oltre 30 ore di lavoro e oltre 200 euro di materiale per terminare il quadro, mi sono sentito offeso ma non fa niente. L' arte non ha prezzo, ma forse sarebbe meglio dire che l'arte è per pochi!
