Sunny day on the waterfront - watercolor on paper

Hello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing my latest watercolor painting depicting a beautiful sunny day on the waterfront. As you know watercolor is a painting technique that draws heavily on the light that comes directly from the white sheet of paper. So I made a classic watercolor in which the light is very diffuse and I tried to create a warm and bright atmosphere.

I started as usual without drawing, relying only on the initial idea.

I painted the first colored backgrounds and part of the sky.

I created some buildings and two cliffs on the sides.

Then I inserted a small boat entering the harbor and outlined the buildings with some reflections on the water.

Finally I colored the cloud bodies with Payne's gray mixed with purple and reinforced the cerulean blue of the sky.

Giornata di sole sul lungomare - acquarello su carta

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido il mio ultimo dipinto ad acquarello che rappresenta una bella giornata di sole sul lungomare. Come sapete l'acquarello è una tecnica pittorica che attinge molto dalla luce che viene direttamente dal bianco del foglio di carta. Così ho realizzato un acquarello classico in cui la luce è molto diffusa ed ho cercato di creare un'atmosfera calda e luminosa.

Sono partito come al solito senza disegnare, affidandomi solo all'idea iniziale.

Ho dipinto le prime campiture colorate e parte del cielo.

Ho creato alcuni palazzi e due scogliere ai lati.

Poi ho inserito una piccola barca che entra nel porto ed ho delineato i palazzi con alcuni riflessi sull'acqua.

Infine ho colorato i corpi nuvolosi con il grigio di Payne mescolato al viola e rinforzato il blu ceruleo del cielo.
