Surreal dawn - watercolors on paper

I recently rewatched Steven Spielberg's movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind and was inspired by the quality of the special lighting effects, as well as sound.

In 1978 when I saw it in the cinema I really liked the special effects (an Oscar) but I was too young to be inspired in my painting.

So these days I made a watercolor that highlights the power of light in a scenic surrealism. I first drew and then painted a group of people some of whom are holding hands that are standing still in front of the great glow of light in a sky with very warm tones.

Alba surreale - acquarelli su carta

Ultimamente ho rivisto il film Incontri ravvicinati del terzo tipo di Steven Spielberg e sono stato ispirato dalla qualità degli effetti speciali luminosi, oltre che sonori. Nel 1978 quando lo vidi al cinema mi piacquero molto gli effetti speciali (un Oscar) ma ero troppo piccolo per lasciarmi ispirare nella mia pittura. Così in questi giorni ho realizzato un acquarello che mette in evidenza la forza della luce in un surrealismo scenografico. Ho prima disegnato e poi dipinto un gruppo di persone di cui alcune si tengono per mano che son0o ferme davanti al grande bagliore di luce in un cielo dai toni molto caldi.
