Last year, I had the opportunity to visit this city, whose historical importance in our country is undeniable.

Not only was it a key player during the independence struggles of the 19th century, but it also houses remnants of an ancient indigenous settlement located along the banks of the Orinoco River, a place that seems to hold secrets from millennia past.
No solo fue protagonista clave durante la gesta independentista del siglo XIX, sino que también alberga vestigios de un antiguo asentamiento indígena situado frente a las orillas del río Orinoco, un lugar que parece guardar secretos de hace milenios.
This time, my excitement about returning is even greater. During my previous visit, although fruitful, I unfortunately stayed quite far from the historic center.
Esta vez, mi emoción por regresar es aún mayor. En mi visita anterior, aunque provechosa, lamentablemente estuve bastante alejado del casco histórico.
I only managed to capture a few photographs during a brief and hectic stop, but now I am lucky enough to be staying right in the heart of the city, in a guesthouse that occupies a beautifully restored colonial house, full of care and attention to detail.
Solo pude capturar unas pocas fotografías en una breve y agitada visita, pero ahora tengo la suerte de estar alojado en pleno centro, en una posada que ocupa una antigua casa colonial restaurada con mucho cariño y atención al detalle.
Its architecture, interior courtyards, and high ceilings immediately transport you to another era, inviting you to imagine what life was like here centuries ago.
Su arquitectura, sus patios interiores y los techos altos inmediatamente te transportan a otra época, invitándoa imaginar cómo era la vida aquí hace unos siglos.
After the long overland journey from Caracas (about 10 hours), and once settled into the guesthouse, we went out for dinner very nearby, also in an old mansion.
Después del largo viaje terrestre desde Caracas, (unas 10 horas) y ya instalados en la posada, fuimos a cenar muy cerca, también en una antigua casona.
This trip, in a way, represents a small personal redemption. Over the next three days that I’ll be here, I hope to explore the historic center more thoroughly and share more of my impressions on my blog.
Este viaje representa, de alguna manera, una pequeña revancha personal. Espero poder recorrer de mejor forma el casco histórico en los próximos tres días que estaré por aquí y compartir algo más en mi blog.
