@mrsbozz and I woke up to a bit of a surprise on Friday morning as a decent sized weather system moved through the area and dumped a couple of inches of snow on us. It wasn't enough for them to close down our school district, but it was enough to make the drive into work a little dicey.

Thankfully, unlike most Friday's, we had a late morning stop to make first, so we didn't have to rush into work. I took a little bit of time in the morning to blow out the driveway, which ended up being pretty futile because it continued to snow throughout the morning so you couldn't even tell I had cleared the driveway by the time we got home.

This photo was actually taken right after I took the photo above, but I used the "night sight" setting on my Google Pixel 8 Pro phone. Quite the difference eh?

Here's another shot I took right after the other one. I even waited for the floodlight we have on the front of the house to shut off. It's pretty impressive the difference. The temperatures have remained pretty cold, so I have a feeling we might have snow on the ground for Christmas this year which I don't feel has been the case lately.

As I mentioned, @mrsbozz and I had a stop to make before we headed in to work. Every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas, she gives a local charity some names of families in our district who maybe need a little extra help for the holidays. They gather a bunch of food and other items together and then we deliver them to the school where the specific families can come and pick them up.

I think for Thanksgiving we had around 12 full meals in the back of my truck. Christmas this year was a little smaller with only about ten meals going out. You can see the turkey's on the left a fifty pound bag of potatoes on the right, and then all kids of other stuff in the middle.

In addition to the turkey's and potatoes, they also get a bag of breads, a bag of canned goods, a bag of dry goods, a package of sausage, a pie, and as I said before some other stuff. It's pretty much everything you need to make a nice meal or two for the family.

I didn't get a photo of it, but when we finally got to school and were unloading the truck, the snow was coming down pretty heavy and the back of my truck got filled with powder as we were unloading the items. It continued to snow most of the morning.

This past weekend I got to spend some time with my side of the family celebrating the holidays. We went out to eat and then back to my parents house for a really nice time filled with desserts and laughs.

It's crazy to think we are almost at the end of another year, I feel like 2024 just flew right by. Except when the political commercials were on, that couple of months seemed to drag by at a snails pace.

Even though school is closed for the holiday, I still have to report on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, so the rest of this week will be filled with work and some time spent with my wife's family as they make their way into town.

I also hope to run back over to my parents to see them one more time this week.

Needless to say, it's going to be a busy time and I am going to have to front load a lot of my content.

I forgot to mention, Friday night @mrsbozz and I headed out in the truck and drove around our local area to check out some of the Christmas lights. I'll share more of those in my post tomorrow for Christmas Eve.

I have a feeling the chain is going to be a bit dead this week, but I hope all of you have a blessed holiday season no matter what you celebrate. Take some time to just take a breath and get ready for what 2025 might bring us!

I'd love a bit of snow for Christmas, it makes so much difference, but I think the weather is going to be quite mild for us this year. It would be magical having that carpet of undisturbed snow outside my house!!

Have a great Christmas!

It's definitely nice when you don't have anywhere you need to be. I love snow on the weekend when we can just stay home and watch it fall through the window.

Not much chance of snow here. Even in Scotland it's well above freezing. No white Christmas for us.

Have a great one and I hope for a good 2025.

Can you count on two hands the number of white Christmases you have had over there? One hand, or is it more than that?

If you count a few flakes then there have been a few, but the snow tends to come later.

Looks like you had enough snow to celebrate Xmas and New year in full steam!
In my region unfortunately against snow almost melted due to the weather tricks (... But I hope on New Year we'll have some snow on streets to enjoy it on holidays with kids🤞🤞🤞
Merry Christmas!!!

I thought ours was going to be gone too as we had a bit of a warm up, but then this other batch came through and here we are!

Ohh weather became so unpredictable now🤷🏼‍♂️

That's pretty common here in Michigan!

Wishing the best to you and the Mrs
That is awesome and very generous of you to support the less fortunate in your community.

Happy Holidays

May Positive pepEntropy be with you.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I hope you have a happy holiday as well. Really we just haul the stuff from one place to another, but the people wouldn't get the food otherwise, so it gives me a bit of a warm feeling! :)

Every little bit helps and I am inspired to do a little bit more for my community.

It's always fun seeing Christmas lights! It's nice of you guys to give out food for Christmas to the less fortunate, I'm sure they will deeply appreciate it.

As for the horrible white stuff I hope it stays away for awhile. I really don't miss snow! I hope work is pretty easy this week with no students around, too bad they don't just shut down to save on costs. Oh well! Have a great day, hopefully no more snow on the horizon!

Actually, it was supposed to snow all day today last I heard, but I haven't seen a flake yet. An hour or so north of us was calling for 4 to 6 inches. It's crazy how much the Great Lakes can affect the weather here in Michigan. It's nice being able to help get these resources to families that need them. We have been doing the drive thing the past couple of years. I only had to use 4WD a couple of times this year on our drive!

That saves money, 4WD burns more gas! I hope it's not too bad today, but lake effect snow can pile up fast!

That's very true! My wife just messaged me that the snow is starting back home.
