Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today let's go into another Three Tune Tuesday post.

Today I have a new group I just discovered the other day called Highline Vocal Jazz. Let's dive in to three of their songs.
By the way, once again it seems like hive.blog still hasn't fixed the iframe bug, so I will just again do direct links and skip the embeds.
How High the Moon
Somehow I had never heard of this group until they showed up on my Youtube suggested list the other day. Thank the algorithm! In between the good singing and fun lyrics, this is a little bit of scatting overload. The harmonics here are incredible!
All of Me
I've always been fond of this classic swing hit, so it was great to see they did a version of it. Again, they go crazy on the scatting, but it all comes together nicely.
Reading Rainbow
Oh man, this brings back memories. Most kids of my generation grew up with three PBS shows: Sesame Street, Mr Rogers, and Reading Rainbow. It was a show hosted by Levar Burton that just promoted and encouraged reading in every way possible. The show was incredibly successful, running from sometime in the early 80s until finally ending around 2006, winning all kinds of awards in that time.
While I can't honestly say this is a great arrangement of the theme song, it still is a lot of fun!
Unfortunately, looking at their youtube page, they haven't uploaded any new videos in a year. That could be good or bad, I suppose. They are finding so much success with gigs that they just don't have time to upload anything and have no media manager to do it for them, or they fell on hard times. Well, at least we have a channel full of good stuff!

Those are some really classic jazz standards. Well the first two I guess :) Reading Rainbow is just iconic in its own right! Great stuff today. It does look like they have a space on Spotify even if they aren't actively posting on YouTube anymore.
One of these days I'm going to have to download Spotify and try it.
