Hello friends,
A few years ago I had fun making small sacred objects, including the "Talking Stick".
It is an object that is used in many Native American traditions, when a council meets, when there is a common topic to discuss, this object allows all the people gathered to express their point of view, the sacred point of view.
Hello friends,
A few years ago I had fun making small sacred objects, including the "Talking Stick".
It is an object that is used in many Native American traditions, when a council meets, when there is a common topic to discuss, this object allows all the people gathered to express their point of view, the sacred point of view.
Those who want to speak ask for the 'talking stick' and are allowed to express their opinion. All others listen attentively, also recognising the value of each speaker.
This does not mean that there cannot be disagreements, but there is respect for each other's ideas.
Having the 'talking stick' in your hands makes you express an idea clearly, the words become simple and effective and you do not feel the fear of judgement.
It can be made of any wood. But each 'talking stick' tells a bit of the owner's story
The quality of the wood used brings different vibrations: birch symbolises truth, white pine, peace, cedar, cleanliness, poplar, clear vision.
Mine is made of laurel, I like its white wood and especially the scent that remains after years. However, cherry, oak, all trees have excellent properties.
Colours also have meanings.
Red, faith, yellow, love, blue intuition, green will, in short, every colour carries a meaning. Feathers, skins, are also important because they give the 'Talking Stick' its energy, its strengths.
When I made this stick, I remember looking far and wide, I even went outside Rome, but I couldn't find the wood that inspired me.
One morning while walking in a villa near my house, I was attracted by a piece of wood coming out of a pile, the result of a vigorous pruning. I picked it up and worked it.
I use it little, but from now on I will consult it more.
It reminds us that every point of view should be respected and teaches us to listen and not interrupt, and that there are so many alternatives and answers to various problems.
