#1 - let the games begin

in Discovery-it5 years ago (edited)

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, part of my plans on Hive is creating posts about the shots I first published in my introduction.
So here we go with the #1.

1 | Strangers on bench

(official) story of the shot

Obviously that’s a bench where 4 people are sitting (and nowadays that’s already a fact!)
But here’s the official story. I took this picture in St.Stephen’s Green Park in Dublin (Ireland), back in 2014. I was in the city to study English, right after I finished my last year of high school.
I was young and free, and I loved going around parks and public places in general, to take picture of everything; I was definitely focused on people: just the particular way the perfectly seemed to fit in the composition of all the green and colorful spaces of Dublin in Summer. All those individuals looked perfect to me, each one of them, framed in the city spots, was to me the unique and special subject of my picture.
So here I wanna share some more examples of what I’m talking about. As usual, images make it easier to understand. (keep in mind these shots were taken with a Nikon reflex, my very first reflex camera, I think it was a D40, but I consumed it almost entirely during that Irish journey!!!)

1.1 | Let's call it magic

1.2 | Of course September is still Summer if you're Irish... if not, no.

1.3 | The Irish lunatics are on the grass🎶 (semi-quote)

(unofficial) story - BTS

The real fun fact behind all these pictures (and many more I’ll share) is that everytime I literally took the risk of getting “caught”, i.e. seen by the subject. One fraction of a second earlier or later than the exact moment I took the photo, I could have been seen while doing it and who knows what could have happened. I know what you’re thinking, but no: IM NOT A STALKER 😂 I don’t follow people, and most important, I don’t even know them (and don’t want to). Indeed, while I take a picture, not only am I physically making the action of clicking, but I am also creating my own story of the subject. And trust me, it’s better not to know people and making up their stories than getting to know their actual real stories. Or at least, your stories could be anything, as opposed to merely real!

1.4 | Family on Giant's Causeway

1.5 | That's the Irish fog/rain

1.6 | That was impossible not to take

Thanks for reading, hopefully you appreciate this very first posts of mine. If so, please leave a comment with your thought and lemme know if you ever feel like a stalker while taking a very good picture of a person 🤣

P.S.: I bet those people would pay for the pictures I took of 'em!

Street photography is a little "stalking" 😆
You can try strengthen your already beautiful images using B/W
Nice job, anyway 😀

Thanks for sharing your thought, I gotta admit I have some b&w shots too, but Ireland is definitely way too colorful and cheerful to be framed without colors. I'll post some black&white work eventually! And about stalking, if you're right (and I guess you actually are), I can't help but keep on doing it 😂 it's too good and satisfying (flewsplash aka voyeurism 😅)

I visited Dublin and part of Ireland some years ago and I agree is colorful .

About stalking, please, keep stalking 😁
