The Last USSR Citizen | Sergei Krikalev|

Getting stuck in a house or vehicle for a few hours can be a daunting task. Being trapped for almost a year in a space station 350 km away from the earth without even the force of gravity can be quite a daunting experience. Sergei Kryka Lev, a Soviet / Russian cosmonaut, is the man who went through such a situation.

The Mir Space Station was a space station built by the Soviet Union in the 1980s. Mir, the largest space station ever built, was a technological marvel. Mir's first module was launched in 1986. Mir was built by combining modules with continuous proton-Soyuz launches.

By the end of the 1980s, the Soviet Union began to destabilize. But the launches to Mir continued. On May 19, 1991, SoyuzTM - 12 Larry Sergei Krikalev, a USSR citizen, returned to Mir. It was his second space trip. Krikalev, who arrived in Mir the next day, was scheduled to return to Earth five months later.
But within two months of Krikalev's arrival in Mir, many events took place in the Soviet Union. Attempts by Vice President Gannadi Yanayev to seize power have failed. Boris Yeltsin, the leader of the Russian Federation, the largest constituent republic, has seized power. The USSR itself practically disappeared. On December 25, 1991, the USSR was officially dissolved. The cricket levee trapped in the mirror was stunned. By then, he had spent more than six months on the space station.

The Russian Federation, the successor country, was responsible for bringing back the man who was brought into space by the Soviet Union. But Yeltsin Russia showed no interest. The Russian space agency was unable to carry out a Soyuz mission to bring Cricklev back because it had no money.
The Russian space agency Glavcosmos eventually won a contract to send a German tourist to Mir for $ 24 million. With that money, they carried out a mission to Mir at the end of March 1992 and brought Krikalev back to Earth on March 25.

By then, Crica Lave had set the record after 311 consecutive days in space. Krikalev, who still returned as a Soviet citizen, was honored with the title of Hero of the Russian Federation by Russia. Sergei Crica Lev was the last USSR citizen.
The only reason Mir had food reserves and oxygen and water regeneration systems was because he was able to spend months in solitary microgravity without any re-supply.

When he returned, he was in poor health, but Crica Leve went on a number of space missions. Krikalev was the first astronaut to reach the International Space Station (ISS) after Mir.

PS: Krikalev has flown six times in space for a total of 803 days .He has performed more than forty hours of extra - vehicle activities .He was a mechanical engineer and was a flight engineer on most of his space missions. Krikalev, who has a history of conducting the most successful space missions, retired from space missions in 2007. But since then, he has kept ground control and saved the International Space Station from many dangers. Krikalev, 62, is currently one of the vice presidents of Russian space equipment maker Energia.
