Some great familiar views. I do miss seeing the mountains every day. You are correct about the brake checks halfway down Pike's Peak. It's amazing how many people don't know how to downshift and use their gears and car engine to control their speed coming down. Of course in the EV it was awesome, using the regenerative on the way down, my battery was almost fully recharged when we got to the bottom, and didn't have to hit the brakes once, lol.

Haha, that is pretty cool about the EV. Looking back now, I should have totally downshifted, but I wasn't even thinking about it and it was a rental car, so I really didn't care. There was another softball parent there who drove their everyday car and he said he probably needed to get new brakes when he got home. The newer automatics don't make it as easy to downshift as it used to be sometimes.
