Immerse yourself in my little adventure about a reptile exhibition in Spain, let's talk a little about these beautiful animals, many see reptiles as cold-blooded animals, dangerous and without any emotion but not everything is as it seems! To say that they are cold blooded does not classify them as dangerous animals without emotions, it simply does not have the ability to regulate their body temperature! let's walk in the world of reptiles to learn more about them!
As I mentioned before, a reptile is cold blooded because it does not have the ability to relax its body temperature by itself! it depends 100% on its environment, the most efficient way to raise its temperature is through the sun! lizards, snakes can take "sun baths" this physiological mechanism helps them to accelerate their metabolism and raise their temperature!
On a rainy day with low light intensity, reptiles don't die! they just have a low metabolism, and they are basically cold! Many winter species, when the sun and temperatures are extreme like some turtles, their metabolism is almost reduced to 0, they only breathe at a very low rate! this to survive in times where there is not enough sun to perform activities such as hunting!
We are mammals, we have the ability to regulate our temperature without the need to sunbathe! But to generate heat, our body needs to produce energy, through calories, and the energy source comes from food! this clearly tells us that a reptile does not need to eat a lot because its metabolism is slow! this is a great evolutionary advantage let's imagine a python can live without eating for 6 months ...

Most reptiles lay eggs, their skin is characterized by being hard, and dry they have scales, there is a great variety of these animals distributed all over the world, many in tropical countries where environmental conditions allow it! the only place where we don't get reptiles is in Antarctica!
There are approximately more than 8000 species of reptiles in the world, snakes and lizards are the main groups to be the most numerous! China is one of the countries with the greatest diversity of reptiles and amphibians, more than 210 species of amphibians and more than 320 species of reptiles, incredible right?

AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES
There are two main characteristics that differentiate reptiles from amphibians, for example an amphibian such as a frog goes through a series of larval stages to reach its adult stage, such as a "tadpole" a reptile does not! the skin of a frog is moist and porous the opposite of a lizard or snake!
The 4 main groups of reptiles in the world are the turtles, characterized by their protective shell, the large scaly ones this group includes lizards and serpents! then we have the respected crocodiles, they are the most similar to birds and dinosaurs already extinct! Millions of evolutionary years has made of the surviving large crocodiles!
LARGER REPTILE AND AMPHIBIUM
The largest reptile in the world is the crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) can weigh up to 2 thousand kilos and measure more than 7 meters! the largest amphibian in the world Andrias davidianus with almost 2 meters long this newly identified Chinese salamander breaks a great record for the world of frogs!

The smallest reptile in the world is the Brookesia micra species, a chameleon that does not measure up to 3 centimeters in length!
These animals break records for their great functionality and adaptability to the environment, for example the crocodile does not have sweat glands so they sweat through their mouth, it is a way to stay cool, did you know that one of the longest-lived animals is a turtle? they can live more than 100 years!
Chameleons are one of the most sought after by lovers of exotic animals, many believe that they change color to camouflage themselves and it is not true! the color change is a response to its change of mood, a chameleon changes color when it is sick, upset, in reproductive season๐๐
One of the animals with the most powerful poison in the world belongs to the order of snakes, the famous black mamba capable of killing a human in minutes! then we have extreme turtles like the species (Emydoidea blandingii) able to live and swim under ice! unthinkable because most are from tropical environments๐ค๐ค
THEY ARE NOT A THREAT
In the world more people die from bee stings than from snake bites, we have bad information about these fantastic animals only attack us when we invade their territory
The skull of a snake is very different from ours! the skull is made up of multiple small bones that connect to each other! giving the possibility to expand! that is why snakes can feed on prey much larger than themselves!
Reptiles such as the bearded dragon, and turtles are intelligent and are able to recognize their name when it is called to eat! many reptiles are used as esteemed pets because they manage to create an esteem bond with us๐๐

Check out the last post from @hivebuzz:
but im afraid of snakes hahaha
Nice post and brautiful photos... I love Chameleons
:D
I read every details of your write up and saw every picture, but the amazing part of this is how were you able to pick snakes without any arm?
These photos are an exhibition, so do not manipulate them! But do you think that I no longer take bites? xD haha โโworking with them, I took a lot of bites!
How then do you get rid of the venoms? Or are they poisonless
No, most do not have poison! I am to manipulate more pythons, first the poisonous ones have a sale restriction order in the vast majority of European countries! I personally do not handle poisonous! once I handled a coral it was the most extreme thing I did! Hugs
I had love to give you an upvote but am still new with little hive power, but I will follow you and read your articles

Ok, I was wondering earlier how you were able to play with the reptiles
if one or another bite does not hurt hahahha! I invite you to follow our discord on discovery-it and publish quality content to receive great rewards
Ok
I meant harm
Wonderful post and amazing photos! During Corona lockdown I made a friend, Mr. Lizard ๐ฆ ๐ He loves to chill out with me on sunny days on my porch. This is him, I managed to take a few shots, he's little bit shy ๐
It seems to belong to the Teiidae family. I give you a tip. Some of those lizards have more colorful tails than other parts of their body! I don't see his tail here! but this is evolutionary mechanism to confuse predators! Did you know that their tails grow? So who would rather lose their tails or their heads? good question! they use bright colors so that the predators attack that point!
beautyyy photos
What a horror. But it's nice to be friends with you
