That is cool that you get to play around with tech hardware and software at work. I used to put together computers from scratch as a kid. I built ZX Spectrum soldering microchips and other parts into the board. Then I built a bunch of computers from parts in the past.

Last time I did it was just a few years ago assembling a custom streamer PC for my son to record HD content for his YouTube channel.

These days in my day job I do software only, which is not a bad thing as our organization is moving more and more from our Datacenter into Azure cloud. Everything is becoming virtual...

I do a little bit of everything here. It's pretty much a two man shop and before that it was just me, so I have to make it work. My desktop at work is a custom built machine and I have a couple other custom machines in my office. Most everything is going to the cloud these days for sure. My dad and I built one of our first computers together when I was a kid. Right now my brother in law is helping his nephew build a gaming machine too.
