You get kudos for creativity on that solution. I'm not an IT guy so I would have calling someone for help. I do think that the principal should have let you know sooner so it could have been noticed a little faster, but oh well. I guess now you will have a way to notice when things go wrong, but people can be mean on social media and overly critical. The most important thing is that you learned something anyway, I always feel the day isn't wasted if I learn at least one new thing!

Yeah, it was pretty annoying because it meant a crew didn't get on site until about 6PM that night to even start looking for the break so they could repair it. They are lucky they had it fixed by the next morning.
