"Puppy Nest"

It's winter in the third world country of Germany, and we have to keep the temperatures in the house lower than usual to conserve gas. Not because our fearless leaders told us so, but because their dumbass politics have wreaked havoc on the energy markets and prices have skyrocketed since last year. Turns out, you can't run an industrialized country on renewables after all. Who knew?
Meanwhile, our little Maltese puppy Gizmo has shown to be quite the milk warmer, and daddy has to build him a "puppy nest" from blankets, pillows, and whatever else is handy on the couch. There he buries himself and oftentimes, only the little button nose sticks out. A funny picture, and reason enough to paint the little fellow. 😀
Es ist Winter im Dritte-Welt-Land Deutschland, und wir müssen die Temperaturen im Haus niedriger als sonst halten, um Gas zu sparen. Nicht, weil die beste Regierung aller Zeiten das so möchte, sondern weil ihre dämliche Politik die freien Energiemärkte in Schutt und Asche gelegt hat und die Preise seit letztem Jahr in die Höhe geschossen sind. Wie sich herausgestellt, kann man ein Industrieland nicht mit erneuerbaren Energien am Laufen halten. Wer hätte das gedacht?
In der Zwischenzeit hat sich unser kleiner Malteserwelpe Gizmo als ziemlicher Milchwärmer erwiesen, und Herrchen muss ihm ein "Welpennest" aus Decken, Kissen und allem, was sonst noch auf dem Sofa rumliegt, bauen. Dort vergräbt er sich, und oft schaut nur die niedliche Knopfnase heraus. Ein lustiges Bild, und Grund genug, den kleinen Kerl zu malen. 😀
