When I was 19, I stepped into the world of modeling, filled with excitement but also fear. The thought of failure haunted me. Becoming a model felt like a long shot, and the dream of representing my country on the Miss Universe stage seemed completely out of reach.
For nine years, I competed in pageants, and each time, I gave it my all. But I never won. I would place as 2nd runner-up, 3rd runner-up, or even lower. Each competition brought its own challenges and reasons why I didn’t take the crown. There were moments of frustration and doubt, but none of it stopped me. I refused to give up on my dream.
I kept going, year after year, determined to grow, improve, and try again. After nine years of perseverance, I finally achieved what once felt impossible: I won the title of Miss Universe El Salvador.
Looking back, I realize that every setback was part of the journey, teaching me resilience, patience, and the power of believing in myself. Taking that first step and continuing to try, even when the odds felt stacked against me, led to opportunities and experiences I never could have imagined.
This journey taught me that success isn’t about how fast you get there—it’s about never giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it. Keep showing up. The path may be long, and there may be obstacles, but the only way to fail is to stop trying.
So, to anyone reading this, know that anything is possible. The limits we face are often the ones we place on ourselves. Believe in your dreams, and give yourself the chance to achieve them. Your journey starts with one brave step. Take it.
Very true, thanks for making this point (to remember) :) !
