Hello and welcome to "Cycling in Israel"
Today I went cycling on my weekly Northern bound route - I will call it the "Hermon route".
Hermon is the biggest mountain cluster in Israel with the highest elevation of 2236m. It is located at the Northern border of Israel, Lebanon and Syria. Ultimate goal ( very optimistic ) of the Hermon cycling route is to reach the mountain.
On my way I managed to improve the route to the city of Raanana.
While cycling through Raanana I chose to explore the many green paths between buildings. The southern neighborhoods are newer and specifically designed to incorporate long parks, gardens and walking paths. So far it is the most green city that I have visited.
The furthers point of my trip was the entrance to the village of "Givat Hen". The village borders Raanana to the south and it is next on my exploration list. "Givat Hen" translates to "Beautiful Mound", something to look forward to.

Erythrina Tree
Very rarely I encounter these trees it is the only one on my Hermon route. The tree has very uniquely shaped flaming red flowers.
